Scribble

Materials: Steel gauge plate, fine silver wire.

A series of steel desk objects that incorporate a damascened fine (pure) silver ‘scribble’.

Updating the traditional damascene decorative metal inlay technique, each object has a line CNC cut into its surface. The sides of this line are then undercut to enable it to hold a silver wire which is hammered into place.

Careful translation of a fluid pencil scribble into a digital tool path ensures the finished objects surfaces retain a hand drawn quality.
