‘Spirit levels’ as a project is an exploration of these most fundamental of measuring tools.

It seeks to celebrate ideas of precision, both in terms of quality in manufactured objects and also in terms of use via the “act of doing”. As precision is integral to notions of quality and craftsmanship, these products intend not only to deliver accurate measurement, but also imbue feelings of confidence and accuracy through their physical form and use. All are designed to feel good in the hand and employ traditional craft and high tech manufacture. There are two distinct groups – the first utilises the common ‘barrel shaped’ vial the second the ‘bulls eye’ or domed vial. All vials are manufactured from precision ground glass in the UK and are the most accurate available.
