LAB-01H stool
Designer: Trevor Duncan
Materials: Oak
A contemporary take on the laboratory work stool. These stools, commonly manufactured with simple welded tubular steel frames and hardwood tops were found in almost every school workshop and laboratory. Simple and robust they were given very little in the way of embellishment but nevertheless they survived many years of use and many have now become collectable and are sort after.
The LAB series of stools follows the same basic form and proportions but instead of steel it uses timber for both frame and seat. The stool incorporates subtle use of detail to both reference the original design and add to its usability. The stools stack on a radius rebated on the bottom of the side rail and the footrest it angled at 45 degrees to aid comfort. Produced in oak the stool is designed to be produced in 3 heights 01H 720mm, 01S 620mm and 01L at 420mm.
