Desktop Empires is a series of wedges, v blocks, gauges and shims that facilitate the holding, securing and moving work in an engineering machine shop, they exist to assist in manufacturing procedures.

They are designed using simple minimal geometric forms and echo childhood qualities; they are tactile objects that promote the act of playing with building blocks.  Taking these items out of the context of the workshop environment gives the opportunity for play and adventure as the imagination is liberated…
